The Alive Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to conserve and manage natural habitats and their biodiversity, as well as the functionality of ecosystems, through the promotion of research, the dissemination of knowledge, environmental education, biodiversity management, and land management.

We envision a future where communities live in harmony with nature, with a deep understanding of their ecosystems and the intrinsic values ​​of biodiversity. Jordi Sargatal

  • Patron of the Alive Foundation
  • Promoter (1976-1983) and Director (1984-1998) of the Aiguamolls de l’Empordà Natural Park.
  • Director of the Territory and Landscape Foundation (1998-2009). Purchase and management of up to 24 estates, covering around 8,000 ha, and from there the concept of Land Custody began.
  • 50 years of ornithology.
  • Co-founder of Lynx Edicions and co-editor of the “Handbook of the Birds of the World”, which with 16 volumes collects the almost 11,000 species of birds in the world.
